GLAMITURE #2 - SHINY BROKEN PIECES

TITLE: SHINY BROKEN PIECES
AUTHOR: SONA CHARAIPOTRA & DHONIELLE CLAYTON
PUBLICATION: 2017
PAGES: 284

*DISCLAIMER*
THIS BOOK IS A DUOLOGY THE FIRST IS TINY PRETTY THINGS... I SUGGEST READING IT FIRST BEFORE READING THIS.
This book was one of my favorite "must reads" so far. This book is set apart from other books because the non-glamorization portrayal of the unlikeable heroines. There is backstabbing, savagery, and lots of tears. This book allows you to see this and see them make the decisions they make, and how messy they get. This book is full of rawness. The character development of this book is spot on and the book itself does a excellent job of making you feel like you are in NYC and dancing with others.
I enjoyed the character switches in this book, making you feel different things and different feelings/emotions for the character you first hated in the book. I also liked that this book dealt with various real life issues such as: anorexia, bulimia, inappropriate relationships, crimes, etc.
I am still wondering if ballet is as competitive and whether or not the dancers are actually as bad as they are portrayed in the book - because honestly its kind of scary.
This book however, did leave you with unanswered questions, and that I did not like. I would have liked to know if there was point to certain things/events that happened. I would have liked to know if June got better and continued getting better, was she still with her boyfriend?

GLAMITURE #4 - See What I Have Done

TITLE:   See What I Have Done AUTHOR: Sarah Schmidt PUBLICATION: 2017 PAGES: 328 This book is a MUST read.. I read this book in literally 2 days! I hardly wanted to put it down. I have been intrigued with Lizzie Borden and couldn't wait to read a fictionalized story about her, this authors take is beautiful. The book started out slow as it just jumped right into Lizzie finding her father dead. It gave no insight or history on Lizzie Borden. I didn't know if I was going to be able to deal with the events leading up to the murders, this book really didn't cover that but only covered the days leading up to and after the murders. This story is told from 4 different view points; Emma (Lizzie's oldest sister), Bridget (The Irish maid, Benjamin (A total stranger hired by the Borden girls uncle with nefarious intentions), and Miss Lizzie Borden.  The writing on this evocative, even for having "realized" spelled wrong. There's a lot of imagery (

GLAMITURE #10 - SHADOW KISS (VAMPIRE ACADEMY #3)

TITLE: Shadow Kiss AUTHOR: Richelle Mead  PUBLICATION DATE:   2008 PAGES: 446 START DATE:   02-18-18 END DATE:   03-09-18 RATING: 4 The ending of this book kind of upset but it was an amazing book, this book is the one that go me  hooked on the series. There is so much going on in this book, I don't even know where to begin. I was captivated by this book, I really love Dimitri and Rose together... Rose is a character whom had to grow on me, for sure, she kind of got on my nerves in the beginning two books because of how pessimistic she was, every single thing made her mad, and she had a temper and I understand with the whole thing going on with her soaking up the "darkness" from Lissa but I sometimes felt like shaking her and telling her "life isn't that damn bad, you have a really hoot guy, just get the heck over it" but she kind of really grew on me in this book. I started seeing her as more of an enduring cha

GLAMITURE #3 -CRAZY RICH ASIANS

TITLE: Crazy Rich Asians AUTHOR: KEVIN KWAN PUBLICATION : 2013 PAGES: 416 RATING: 5 What a wild, exhilarating, wonderful tale of love and family dysfunction set in one of the most energetic cities in Asia. Add to much money and time into the mix and the characters and this story is off like a rocket. This book is packed full of drama, romance, laughs. This book is a definite page turn (that's an understatement really). I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I already have number two on its way. I suggest to keep flash cards or notebook handy to write down all the "Asian" words they give you in the book along with the meaning. I found that very helpful. I also found myself longing to know what would happen next. This book is a great book for those who may be in a reading slump.
